Philmont Scout Reservation
June 2007 we had 12 Scouts and Scouters from Troop 42 attend Philmont Scout Reservation. Those that have been to Philmont will tell you that it's one of the best experiences of their lives. We will be taking another group in 2011. If you will be fourteen or older you will want to make this trip.

Florida Sea Base
In the summer of 2004 we took 24 Scouts and Scouters to the Florida Sea Base. We took a coed group that was made up of youth from our sister Venture Crew.  We will be taking another group in 2008.  Get your name on the list now if you want to go.

National Scout Jamboree
We had 11 Scouts attended the 2005 National Scout Jamboree. We were also honored to have our very own Steve Hess selected as a leader of the one of council troops. The National Jamboree is a once in a lifetime event with over 40,000 Scouts attending once every four years. For our new scouts please start making plans for 2010 when Scouting will be 100 years old.

Boundary Waters Canoe Area
In the summer of 2006 we took 16 Scouts and Scouters to Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA). We are planning our trip for Aug  2009. Get on the list now because it will be a first come first gets the canoe. Our outfitter of choice is North Country Canoe Outfitters in Ely, MN.
